17 and 5/8 inches top of monitor to desk. Backbone of stand is 18".

Please try again later.The base itself is Base Width 17.7" (45.0 cm) Base Depth 8.9" (22.5 cm) Thickness (With Display) 7.4" (18.8 cm) The monitor is Width including housing 24.1" (61.3 cm) Height including housing 14.8" (37.5 cm) Thickness (Without Stand) 3.0" (7.7 cm) When the monitor is all the way down there is no more than 3 inches of space from the bottom of the housing to the surface, likely slightly less than that. For safety I would say 18 inches to leave yourself a little wiggle room.
