• A flash drive (usb drive) can be updated from the chip manufacturers update tool. Usually not worth it at all . Usb drives are cheap and plentiful.

• NOT 100% Sure but, Simply leave it in the USB port in the front of your 5100 series and with the menu check for up dates. Thats how my "Looks the same" Samsung 7100 Wireless unit up dates to USB drive. I purchased a 5100 by mistake, but I did read booklet.
