In order for this Blue-Ray player to work, you absolutely need a WiFi router in your house and must connect to it. Whether or not your TV has WiFi does not effect the player in any way. Assuming your TV has WiFi already connected then you just need to put in the information into the player, you don't need extra equipment.

It is wireless (like a tablet or labtop). It does need WIFI for the streaming option to work.

You only need wifi if you want to use the apps that are available for it. Not if you just use it for the blu ray function of it.

That all depends on if you want to use the Blu Ray player to stream Netflix or Youtube or Amazon etc. instead of using your TV's apps.

You do not need wifi to use the Blu-ray player to play disks. It is necessary if you are going to run apps like Netflix off of it. If you already use your smart tv to run those kinds of apps, then connecting the Blu-ray player to the wifi isn't necessary. You'll just use your TV as you normally would.
