• I would say that it would depend on where you purchased the bluray player, from Bestbuy store in the US or on bestbuy.com then it will probably be region locked for North America.

• It only plays DVDs from the region you purchased. If from the US, then I do believe that is Region 1

• Almost all North American DVD and Blu Ray players are region coded. US is Region 1 if i'm not mistaken....
