It depends. Does your router provide power to the USB port. This device has no power source and is powered solely by the usb cable. Many old WD drives had a separate power supply that enabled connection to a router for usage as a SAN drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Assuming the router connection is a USB-A you "should" be able to use a USB-A to C converter and attached it directly. I did not try that so I can't verify for sure though but I do have several SSDs leveraging converters.
