Hi there, I had trouble with this issue also. But then I checked my music app in settings. Somehow my music app wasn't automatically set to allow permission to headphones. Once you set it to allow, it should work.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I upgraded my phone from an s8 to and s21 and a lot of phones are X'ing out the phone jack. So i bought the adapter and so far i haven't had any problems. Once you plug it in the phone automatically reads it so its mos definitely something to get if you have a lot of headphones. So to fully answer your questions...No You don't have to change any settings.
