No this is not compatible with the S5

If you mean Note5, yes...mine charges approx. 30 to 45 min fsster and "Without the need to constantly plug and unplug the device, there is significantly less wear and tear on the socket of the device and the attaching cable". Your phone must support inductive charging capability. Place the Note5 on the stand horizontally by slowly sliding it into place from the top. Be sure the blue led steadily lights.

This item is compatible with Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge plus and later models of the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S series.
