• What I do know is I had a 2.0 and used it to record TV shows. Often the playback was draggy. With the 3.0, it doesn't do that so I assume it is much faster.

• The 3.0 should be quite a bit faster in read/write. The 2.0 is great for storage but not as useful as the 3.0 for constant usage.
