“When i try to copy pictures from my iphone 6 ( or do a backup) many of them fail to copy. Is there something I can do to successfully copy them? Also, do they move from my iphone once copied or do i have to delete them myself after they copy?”

No, those pictures you just copied will not automatically be copied. You can either choose the option "cut" or "moved all". If the option is only "copy" you need to delete the files from the device manually. To your question that is does not copy successfully, the photo file might be corrupted. You may want to restart your device and retry.

How are you connecting to your computer and are you using iTunes, icloud, what's for backup?
