I have iPhone 8 and iPad Air 2 and have not had any issues.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No not really if you turned on auto backup it would pull all the pictures and then anything newer you take later. It's not designed to work with two different devices. That's not to say you can't use it with two separate devices you just have to set up two separate folders or more if you wish and manually select the pictures. I hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The iXpand flash drive will 'pick up' any photos or music files that are on EACH iDevice. However, the iXpand drive would need to be physically connected individually to each device to accomplish this. The iXpand drive won't connect directly to iCloud. Any 'older photos' on the iPad2 will transfer to the iXpand drive. These can then be copied from the iXpand drive to the iPhone 7Plus.
