• Yes but if you want it include System then initialize it for Mac. DiskGenius makes things easier.

• I'm not sure for MAC, I used it for Windows PC...but I think it should work...it is compatible with "standard" USB 2 and 3, worst case you always can return the item back to Best Buy with in 15 days.... But remember with USB2 it will much slower than with USB3. This Drive is backwards compatible with USB2... Should be fine I guess.
