“I bought a Sony 85 inch tv and previously had a Vizio 75 inch. That sat on a tv console. Can I use the same console along with the sanus stand to mount my tv? Or will the tv be too heavy for the console?”

I'm not sure what type and size your TV console is, but my TV console stand works with this Sanus swivel set-up just fine with my 86" LG and no issues or problems so far, and I've been using it for a few months now. It all depends on the type and size of your TV console and what weight it's rated to support. For what it's worth, from my experience, a lot manufacturer's low ball in the product specs the TV consoles supported weight as a safety precaution, but do your research before purchasing.
