An SSD will allow for faster loading and boot up of games. When a game is made with a SSD in mind the game will use less of your system RAM.. Freeing up system RAM can have large performance improvements.. Furthermore the "pop in" and "stuttering" glitches in games are FAR less common.. THIS SSD is a carbon copy of the SSD in the Series X/S So that you get the same gaming experience as if it was installed in the console and further increases how much storage you have..

This will run 2500 mbps (or so its advertized) Series X / S games will NOT play off USB SSD. But can still be used for storage in between. Is it expensive - Absolutely, Is it worth it? Hard to say but rumors are game sizes will be larger than the Xbox One S/X as graphics / textures etc are much bigger files sizes.

Any of the new series games will be required to be installed on either the internal or this external drive due to the speeds needed. The new games cannot be installed on any hard drive running off of USB because they are simply too slow due to the USB limitations
