Excellent question. Seagate seems to go out of their way to NOT publish any specific numbers for some reason. I used it for backups only and saw sustained write-speed of ~150-155Mb/s. A simple read test showed a read rate of ~182Mb/s. Thats only a rough estimate based on my testing when doing backups from a NAS (and then reading the data off the drive to verify it). The actual drive maximums may be higher.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've seen transfer rates up to 135 MB/s. They can maintain 100 MB/s while doing light work on the computer. That was done making a copy from one of these drives to another. Of course it depends what else the computer is doing.
