There is a modest charge on the battery, for you to be able to ride it right out of the box. Peers have shared with me to only charge it when the battery gets to about 20% and only when it it fully cooled down. That's what I have been doing to maintain battery health.

Can ride it out the box has a charge to do it. But I would recommend charging it to capacity right after.

It did have charge out of the box, but you better ensure it gets a full charge and follow the rest of the instructions to get the most out of it.
