I'm not sure of the range and, even if I had numbers, I suspect much of clarity has to do with the state of one's ears. I can tell you this: I have age-related hearing loss and have hearing aids for both ears. I don't use them with the headphones and often find myself turning the volume down because what Netflix has set for a particular offering is too loud for me....but still clear. I've not had any clarity issues at all. I hope this helps.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It stays pretty clear up to 25 to 30 feet. Past that is gets a little choppy but you can still make out what is happening on the TV. At around 40 feet it starts to break up a lot. Hope this helps. I really like mine, they work great. I love the freedom to get up and walk into the kitchen to get something and not miss out on my show. AND I don't have to ask anyone to turn it up a bit more. I have my own volume control
