“I have a Sennheiser RS 175 unit and want to connect it to my cable TV through a SONY surround sound . Do I use the digital audio cable? where to connect ? I have tried the TV optical audio and also the SONY optical out. Neither works????.”

I had the same problem. Do not connect to your Sony surround sound. Connect the optical cable to your tv optical OUT. Then select optical sound in the sound settings and tune your unit on. You should be good to go
