Yes as far as vinyl goes it does okay you May want to get the next step up .it comes with a floor attachment that you can use with a cleaning pad I have two shark vacuums one has all bells meaning a larger capacity than the one mentioned in the beginning of this. That has a smaller capacity dirt compartment there's 2 different filters as well each consecutively of aech model I like them both and for price differences if you have pets my advice is to buy the true pet model for larger homes as well Hope this answers your question good luck
