• In the fully extended position it will need to be leaned against something as this vacuum is top heavy. But if the Multi-Flex wand is collapsed it will free stand on its own.

• yes, when it's folded in half...there's a release that flips top half down.

• If you try to stand this vacuum with the power head and battery, it is top-heavy. You can fold it and leave it upright without tipping over, or you can lean the power head on a counter or table if you need to leave it for a few minutes. I fold mine for storage, so it does not tip over.

• We would like to let you know that this unit does not stand up on its own when completely upright. However you would be able to fold the unit over for easy storage when not in use.
