Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to assist you. Yes, it is possible to use different or longer wire to place the Sharp XL-BH250 speakers further apart. The main unit uses spring-loaded terminals, allowing you to replace the short, stock 2.5ft wires with longer 16-18 gauge speaker wire to increase distance without compromising performance.
