• The sensor works by detecting a smaller magnet piece. So yes, if someone tried to move either piece, the alarm would trigger.

• If the two parts of the sensor are separated it will "go off" (i.e. an event will be reported by the device which will in turn be indicated by the app). If the parts are kept together, nothing will happen.
