The SimpliSafe alarm system, i.e. the sensors triggering an alarm, can function as a local-only alarm system without a connection. With active Monitoring Service, it can also communicate with the app for notifications and all app functions, through the built-in cellular link. However, all of our cameras do require WiFi and internet service to function at all. Also, none of our camera offerings have a swivel function.
