“I kept the outdoor camera connected to the 25 ft power cord over a winter. Now I find that there is corrosion of the receptacle where the power cord inserts to the back of the camera. How can I protect this when I get a replacement?”

That power cable should connect with the Outdoor Camera with a tight seal, meaning that moisture shouldn't be getting in. Hopefully when you spoke with our Support team, we replaced both the cable and the whole camera.
