Hi! The Monitoring Service is required for the system to communicate outside of your home. Without Monitoring Service, the system will be able to trigger local siren alarms, only.

Essentially, without the monitoring you have little more than a noise-maker. You cannot get alerts on your phone or otherwise "self-monitor" the system. If no one is home when an alarm sounds, you will have no way of knowing it happened. If a bad guy comes in, your only hope is that the noise will scare him away.

No you have to use the $25 a month service in order to get the alerts

Without the monitoring the system with simply make the alarm sound from the base station or siren if you add that. To control it with the phone it requires the 24.95 a month plan.

No. That will cost you 25 bucks a month, which is the cost of the Service that allows you to access the app .
