The pin pad attaches to the outside of the door, with the tape included or the screws for a more secure hold. When you punch in the code, it sends a signal to lock or unlock the door. This had me confused as well, at first, but it works well.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you have SimpliSafe you link it to your keypad using the pair button above where the battery’s are and then after paired you enter your password into the keypad and it will unlock. Also if you hold the lock button it will lock.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The keypad works with the existing PINs used and set-up for your security system. For example, if you enter "1,2,3,4" to turn off your security system to turn it off, you will enter "1,2,3,4" on the lock keypad to unlock the door.
