Yes it would, you get alerts on your phone that someone rang the bell. Unless you had your phone on do not disturb.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you have a receptacle you would be able to wire in a new transformer. You don't necessarily need to have a chime. However, without a transformer wired up to where you're mounting the doorbell camera, you will not be able to use this. There is no included power supply. You need to buy a transformer that can wire into that Power or plug into it. Then run a wire up to the camera. However you'd be defeating the purpose of this camera because it could easily be unplugged rendering it completely useless.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. This requires/replaces a standard household low voltage doorbell. You can probably rig up a transformer brick but it's probably not worth the hassle. Just use one of Ring's battery powered doorbells instead.
