“I have already had a cheaper model quit after a short time, I think it couldn't stand up to the direct west sun where a metal unit can get too hot to touch. Any experience with this unit in the hot sun? I didn't see a temperature spec.”

• I've had no problems. I get direct sunlight at my front door for several hours a day.
