My chime remained the same when I installed it. I have the simple ‘ding dong’ chime and nothing changed when the SimpliSafe doorbell camera was installed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. Once connected, the doorbell operation is the same as with a "regular" doorbell button. You just connect the two wires that connected to your existing doorbell button and you should be good to go. Note that I've read there are issues with digital doorbells and the Simplisafe. If you have a regular "ding dong" doorbell, it should work fine. If you have a programmable/digital doorbell, you may want to contact Simplisafe.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, that is how mine works. Just connected the two wires to the Simplisafe doorbell and it works just like it did before with the doorbell button. Chimes work just like before I installed the new SimpliSafe doorbell.
