Yes you can transfer your old Sirius lifetime sub to this new XM network radio. I transferred my lifetime sub and get the Xtra Channels and sports ticker. Cost $75 transfer fee...however if you ask them for a discount they will usually give you a $10 credit. The Onyx Plus runs on the XM network and the sound quality is much better than the older Sirius radio. One thing to note... You are switching from Sirius Select Lifetime to XM Select Lifetime. Because of this you lose the Howard Stern channels on the XM radio. Not a big deal breaker if you're not a Howard fan. If you listen to music, news, talk you get more of those channels with the Xtra Channels on the Onyx Plus.
