I recommend you go to a car audio dealer that installs car stereos and ask them what they recommend and see what installation options are available and how the finished installation will look. We have a couple of radios in addition to the Onyx Plus such as the SiriusXM RoadyBT and the Commander Touch. The former (SXVRBT1) supports Bluetooth so the installation might be easier and the latter (SXVCT1) has a shorter height than the Onyx Plus so it may fit better in your Instrument pocket and includes a mounting plate that may fill the space around the radio so you don't have gaps around the display.
