“Do I need a High Def TV to use the sling box 500? The sling box will be connected to a High def smart TV but the tv receiving the stream is an LG LCD TV. Can the 500 still be used without affecting the quality in either end? Would the M2 be a better way to go?”

No you don't, you can hook it up with conventional wiring (yellow, red, green, etc.) or use HDM; it works. The cool thing is that even if you do not have hinder tv, I'm pretty sure if younwatch on a tablet capable of handling it, your good to go!!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm not sure, I have it hooked up to a Sony 50 inch LCD TV and set to 1080 and it looks fantastic on that setting. You can set it to a lower setting if you want but I like the 1080 pix. I'm not sure what the slingbox 500 is. maybe I will look into it.
