My Daughter and son in law lives in san antoinio texas, it's a two hour deference from california, can we watch the lakers play at same time, could he watch from a remote. I have the box and he'll have remote, can he record it for later viewing? thank you null

I am able to remotely with the Sling Box to have access to recorded programs on my DVR. I was actually in Italy last week and watched a program I had set the DVR to record from my laptop.

He will be watching what you are watching unless the sling box is hooked up to a different cable box. I'm not sure about the dvr

Yes. Slingbox mirrors exactly what you have on your TV or set top box. However, it is a 1:1 user ratio so you can watch the game at the same time but if you change channels it will change channels on the device being utilized for Slingbox. You can record it on the DVR & he/she can access that through Slingbox as well. They will be able to access anything in the DVR that is recorded & they also can DVR content remotely.
