We bought a LG LRDCS2603S and best buy insisted their smart choice stainless steel waterline kit be installed. After several days and a lot of ice, the ice still had that chemical taste. After talking to LG customer support and reading the owners manual carefully, the manufacturer recommends using copper or PEX tubing. I contacted geek squad, they returned and installed the PEX tubing kit and just like that, the ice tasted good. They no longer carry the PEX waterline kit. Go figure
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They advise for two buckets to be dumped out, Same with the same water.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The GE Cafe refrigerator I ourchased has a perfect water taste. The refrigeratir I replaced had an awful (warm water) taste unless it was chiled. Replacement water fiters would not correct this issue.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Did you expose 2 gallon of water and ice before usage.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The first gallon or two of water and the first few cycles of ice should be thrown out. That should be enough to clean out your waterline
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes but it will taste funny. Probably will not harm you. Of course by now you should be fine. They, or the instructions should have told you. Throw the 1st couple of buckets out. And run probably 3 to 5 gallon thru the water dispenser.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’ve had the same problem now after having my fridge for almost 3 weeks. I keep dumping out the ice and letting a new batch refill, but it still has that bad taste to it. Hopefully with time, it’ll fade away.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was instructed to dispense 2 gallons worth of water before drinking. And dump the 1st 2 bins of ice before consuming. I have had no taste issues.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You have to discard at least five times the ice. The stainless steel water line has nothing to do with the taste of the ice if the water you get from the refrigerator has no taste It is clearly mentioned that you have to discard at least a couple of days of produced ice
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
