“Is this kit required or compatible with houses where the old dishwasher was hardwired??”

• I did not have a dishwasher previously so there was no wiring or plumbing in place.My installer hardwired everything so the kit wasn't needed. I bought the kit " just in case" I will be returning.

• It depends on how long your lead wire is from the connection source. Mine is hard wired and I did not need the electrical cord connection that came in the kit. My original wire lead was long enough to hook up.
