This was the main reason I bought the sonos beam. There is a control to enhance speech and it actually works. With the beam I can hear voices clearly even with background music playing. You can't go wrong with the sonos beam!!

Also, our soundbars have a feature called "speech enhance" it looks like a little text box. If you turn that on, it turns up just the center channel used for dialog, without turning up the rest of the volume.
