• The Beam has an infrared sensor on the front that allows it to learn your television remote during the set up process. This allows you to control the volume with your television remote whether you use an HDMI ARC port on your television or use a digital optical port (with the included adapter) to connect the Beam.

• Sonos Beam volume can be controlled by Sonos Ap or your TV remote can be programmed like any universal remote for volume for non-arc HDMI TVs.
