No. The Sonos Five is a powered wireless speaker with built-in amplifiers, so it cannot function as a passive speaker. It plugs directly into power and connects through the Sonos system. If you’re looking to power passive speakers with Sonos, you’d want something like the Sonos Amp instead.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It can be used with the auxiliary jack, however it needs to be attached to Wifi just to tell the speaker you'll be using the aux in. It's a stupid system design that needs to be changed, and I've been frustrated by it as long as I've owned it.
