“I am looking to add this receiver to a new Bose - Acoustimass 10 Series V 5.1-Channel system. I will also have this system paired with a new Sony XBR75Z9F 75" TV. Is this receiver a good choice or is the Yamaha RX-V685BL a better choice? Thanks.”

If you were running 7.2 I would probably go with the Yamaha but since you are using 5.1 the Sony. Overall the Sony, to me is easy to use and with the Bravia connect it works well. I have a 55 Bravia 4K and 7.1 surround with in ceiling speakers the bass is deep also from the subwoofer not loud. Also the PlayStation 4 connect. Both are excellent receivers the Yamaha is more expensive. Hopefully that is helpful.
