• Yes got to the settings in your TV and set TV speaker OFF and set the ARC to on. On the Sony controller for your sound bar go to the input button and set it to HDMI and sound will automatically come on but it will be delayed.

• I would say yes. I turn my TV volume all the way down and just use the sound bar as there is a noticeable echo effect when both are on at the same time.
