“Am I supposed to buy/use an HDMI cable for this TV? Upon checking out, it comes up as being recommended to purchase with the TV. I won't be connecting anything else to the TV.”

For the TV itself, i do not use a HDMI cable. Connected through WIFI. I did add a Sony S2000 soundbar and used the HDMI cable that came with it.

The HDMI cables (sold separately) will only be used if you want to connect external devices like Blu-Ray players, set-top box, sound bar, home receivers, etc. It won't be necessary if you're not going to connect any external devices.
