There is always a risk of burn in for any OLED panel display with continuous viewing of static content, but newer TVs like the Sony have more modern methods to prevent it, they have something called “pixel shift” which subtlety moves the display image to prevent image retention on the panel.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.We had the same question. Our sales person explained that Sony regularly updates their TVs and that this issue was taken care of. To paraphrase, the LED cells are replaced in such a way that burn-in is no longer an issue.
