Hi Nick, Thank you for your interest in the Sony A80K! The signal strength of the A80K is excellent. And yes, an outdoor or roof antenna is required to ensure optimal channel reception. Note: Signal strength also depends where and how far the broadcast towers are into relation of your home.An amplified antenna maybe necessary to boost the signal. Hope this helps! With the BRAVIA XR A80K you will enjoy a premium OLED picture with contrast and color that feels deep, natural, and real. The revolutionary Cognitive Processor XR™ reproduces content the way humans see and hear for an incredibly lifelike experience. Feel the action all around you with Acoustic Surface Audio+ and experience truly immersive sound that perfectly matches the picture on screen. Regards, Sam
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Reception is excellent, picture is most vivid I have seen. You don’t need a roof antenna. Can pick up a couple local networks with no antenna, can stream local..or can use an indoor antenna. I have neither and get 2 local channels and ACC Network!! with Xumo App live stream. It’s got a “Sony Bravia” system which is Google rather than Roku or Amazon so it’s taken some getting used to. It’s Bravia IMAX feature is amazing. So far a pleased but I learn more about it daily. I don’t like that, unlike Amazon that includes Roku, it appears this tv does not. I do give this tv an A+ so far (have had it only a month)
