“I wonder about the sound. It is so hard to hear people talking over the background noise in movies and end up using the subtitles. Is this Sony better for hearing?”

Hi CoolieC, Thank you for your inquiry! The XR55A80L has a dialogue feature which will enhance the voice dialogues for a better listening experience. You can also use the other pre-set audio enhancement features using the setting of the TV. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I always use subtitles - even at an actual theater the current sound engineering style makes it very hard to hear dialogue and I wish subtitles were an option there !
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This TV does have an option to enhance dialog so that you hear voices more clearly. Captions are a little tricky to access though as the remote does not have a CC key. I don't like that as an owner of the TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same issue at first. I was not hearing the vocals very well. I went to the sound settings and adjusted the volume. You can adjust the setting for Apps and the other inputs.
