Q: QuestionIs this unit compatible with a 2004 Lexus SC430, and will the retractable door fit? Will a metra accessory fitment be required. Do the steering wheel controls for volume still work?

• A:Answer I am not familiar with a retractable door on a Lexus SC430, but for any aftermarket radio, a metro, or similar, bracket kit will be necessary to support the radio in the vehicles opening. In addition to the metro bracket, the radio also needs the proper wiring harness to connect with the vehicle’s existing wiring. The other end of the wiring then needs to be connected to the radio. As for the steering wheel controls, a steering wheel control adapter is necessary and there is a jack on the radio for this called “remote”.

• A:Answer Yes, you can hook up an amp. There are pre-amp RCA jacks, however due to the single subwoofer jack, it is best to use a one channel amp instead of a 2-channel so that the signal is processed correctly. Since this is a single DIN radio with a double DIN display, it should work with the trailblazer. The wiring harness will have wires that need to be connected to the aftermarket radio’s wires using wiring or butt connectors. Best Buy should be able to help with this if you are doing the install yourself, otherwise their techs will do it with professional installation service.
