  • QuestionI have been reading that this unit WILL connect CarPlay wirelessly with firmware update and an Ottocast adapter. Can anyone vouch that this setup works? I'm interested in this unit because it has volume knob, but I don't want to do wired CarPlay.

When CarPlay is active (for example, using navigation), the radio can continue to play in the background. If you receive navigation prompts from CarPlay, the audio will typically "duck" (lower in volume) so you can hear the directions, but the radio remains the primary audio source unless you specifically select music or audio from CarPlay.
