Hi there Mike. Hopefully this helps you or anyone else in the future. As a former Magnolia System Designer (formerly Best Buys Premium Home theater design division). I can tell you the with a 4K HDR television you'll likely want to use a Cat6e cable to connect this to any home network system as that connection will ensure you can deliver 1gb and greater speeds which really help with downloading 4k content. However, so long as you have a Cat5e cable at the very least you can still obtain 1gb per second speeds and should still have a decent experience. Hopefully this helps.
