Hi BrendanA, This camera has a multi-interface shoe that can be used to connect an external microphone: https://helpguide.sony.net/gbmig/45349331/v1/en/contents/TP0000522400.html You can use the ECM-XYST1M external microphone with this camera. Regards, Vincent
