Hello Dg! Thank you for reaching out with your question. We can certainly help you with that. The short answer is no, you can't directly connect the HT-A8000 soundbar to a traditional AV receiver to use it as a speaker output. The HT-A8000 is designed to be a standalone soundbar system; it's not built to function as a passive speaker or part of a conventional receiver-based home theater setup. It handles all the processing and amplification itself. Instead of connecting to an AV receiver, the HT-A8000 is designed to expand wirelessly within its own ecosystem. If you're looking to enhance its performance, you can seamlessly add compatible Sony subwoofers and rear speakers, like the SA-SW3 subwoofer or SA-RS3S rear speakers, using the Sony | BRAVIA Connect app. This creates a powerful and integrated surround sound experience without the need for an external receiver. We hope this helps! Thank you for making Sony part of your purchasing consideration! Warm regards, Estefany
