I'm not a techie, and your question veers into tech territory. That said, radio signals everywhere use receivers and transmitters; you just want to double them up to use your CD changer on an empty frequency. I suspect that it will work with this Sony stereo head unit. However, I wouldn't expect any of the CD track info to make it through the transmit-receive process. And I suspect that you didn't have it before, either.
