• Thank you for your question! If the batteries are dead, you will not hear any sound coming from the hearing aid. If you're unsure, it may be beneficial to purchase a hearing aid battery tester online. The Sony CRE-C10 battery life is estimated to be up to 70 hours with normal use. When the battery is running low, you will hear an alert signal from the hearing aid. We recommend changing both hearing aid batteries at that time. Erin

• You will start to get an alert tone every three minutes or so. Once the tone stops sounding the hearing aid will stop working.

• If you have them on you will hear a continuous sound. If you don't have them and you put them on and you think the battery is dead try lowering the volume down then up all the way, if you don't notice any difference then is time to replace the dead batteries. Good luck!

• Each aid plays a descending series of notes starting an hour or so before the battery is done
